We had the pleasure of designing MEDUZA in Sopot, from the first concepts and spatial layout to detailed design. The idea was to surprise: an abstract world moved into a modernist pavilion. White is almost nowhere to be found; instead, dozens of plant species surround a 200-year-old olive tree. This is thanks to the client’s keen eye for plants. The space owes much of its beauty to the architecture, restored to its former glory and reconsidered from start to finish by architect Wojciech Augustyniak. The outstanding result also owes much to Aleksandra Ćwilewicz of Korpus Projektowy, who coordinated the implementation of the interiors and terrace on behalf of the client.
Sikora Wnętrza design team: Jan Sikora — lead architect; Ula Grygorcewicz, Zuzanna Węzik, Jan Sikora — concept design; Maria Kurowska, Zuzanna Węzik, Sylwia Tokarska — detailed design and coordination; Dominika Drejer — product coordination.
Construction: EDILBUD — Rafał Sadowski and his team: comprehensive building works (from ruin to the finished space); REGALIA — joinery and natural wood.
On the client’s side, Beata Stolz played a key role as project manager.
