Stacja Kultura in Rumia

This is the project that started our studio. The revitalisation of the old railway station in Rumia brought us more than a dozen awards, including the Polityka Architecture Award and Bryła Roku. It was hailed in the United States as the “world’s most beautiful library”, receiving an award from IIDA, the International Interior Design Association. The design balances modernism with restrained ornament inspired by the history and spirit of Polish railways. Since then, we have completed more than a dozen library projects, many in railway stations. The project helped inspire the revitalisation of Polish stations, with hundreds eventually completed across the country, from Zakopane to Kartuzy.
